Parklane advises Rindchen’s on its sale to publicly listed Schloss Wachenheim AG

Parklane Capital is pleased to report the sale of Rindchen's Weinkontor to Schloss Wachenheim AG. The company acquires a majority share.

• Strategic Partnership: Multichannel providers with the highly attractive product range

• "Germany's best wine retailer international" for the seventh time in a row

• Increase of real net output ratio and optimal complementation of existing business areas

As of July 1st 2017, Schloss Wachenheim AG acquires a majority share in Rindchen's Weinkontor GmbH & Co. KG

The wine merchant based in Bönningstedt near Hamburg sells its products in its own wine shops and partner shops, online and via system partnerships, and also as a partner of restaurants and specialist traders. "We are very pleased about the future collaboration with the distinguished and outstanding wine and sales specialists of Rindchen's. For us, the acquisition of shares means the perfect asset to our existing business and a meaningful increase of our real net output ratio", says CEO Oliver Gloden. A comparable project has already been successfully realized with Schloss Wachenheim's acquisition of AMBRA S.A. in Poland.

With sales of around €20m and a portfolio of >800 wines from >250 national and international wine producers, Rindchen's Weinkontor is one of the leading wine retailers in Germany. The previous owners and founders, Gerd and Christine Rindchen, remain in responsible positions and will continue to be employed as minority shareholders in the company. Gerd Rindchen:"With Schloss Wachenheim AG, we have found the ideal partner for a strategic alliance to systematically expand and grow our business. After more than 40 years of self-employment, it was crucial to us to find a partner that will sustain the company's structure and guarantee the continued employment of our colleagues. Furthermore, Schloss Wachenheim provides Rindchen's with valuable synergies to further strengthen our procurement, product development and communication skills on both a national and international level."

High purchasing competence and quality are the hallmarks of Rindchen's wines. The retailer operates with approximately 100 employees in 13 wine shops in the larger Hamburg region and Munich as well as in 8 partner shops and its online shop www.rindchen.de. Rindchen's particular strength lies in its purchasing department: The customers are delighted by the frequent discovery of otherwise unknown wines to attractive prices. In 2017, Rindchen's once again received the title "Germany's best wine retailer international". This year for the seventh time in a row, Rindchen's thus further establishes its reputation as the best price-pleasure ratio (as Rindchen's prefers to call its price-performance ratio) for wine in Germany.

Schloss Wachenheim AG is one of the world's largest suppliers of sparkling wines and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic wines. The product portfolio of the group of companies includes international brands such as Faber, LIGHT live and Robby Bubble (Germany), Charles Volner, Muscador and Opéra (France), Cin&Cin, Dorato and Cydr Lubelski (Poland). The Group is represented in six countries with its own companies in Germany, France, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, the United States and Slovakia. The total turnover of Schloss Wachenheim AG amounted €293.2m.
